Delta Gamma

Philanthropy Events

Delta Gamma Phi Chapter holds one philanthropy event per semester to raise money for our foundation: Service for Sight. The money we raise at these events go towards funding five schools across America that are dedicated to helping children who are blind or visually impaired. The children and their families learn the skills needed to help them better adapt to everyday life and become independent.  Our members dedicate countless hours volunteering, whether at The Anchor Center, a school for children who are blind or visually impaired, or The Carillon, a senior home located in Boulder.

Our two events we hold each year are Anchor Games, held in the fall semester and Pizza and Puppies, held in the spring. This past fall of 2018, our Anchor Games theme was Anchor Slam: a basketball tournament with teams comprised of various panhellenic participants. Each team was comprised of 8-10 fraternity men who were coached by two of our Delta Gamma members.  Anchor Slam 2018 was extremely successful, raising over $14,000  for our foundation: Service for Sight.

In the Spring, we hosted Pizza and Puppies to raise money for Boulder Guide Dogs as well as Service for Sight.  Several guide dogs were brought into our house and we gave students the opportunity to meet these service dogs and their trainers. This gave those who donated a chance to learn more about service dogs and their important role in people lives while also getting free pizza! Pizza and Puppies this spring was very successful and was able to raise almost $9,000 for Boulder Guide Dogs and Service for Sight.
